Questions about a booking go to the operator who runs it, because they hold the reservation and the pickup list. Questions about the desert itself have no authority to go to — nobody administers Erg Chebbi. Everything else can come to us.
About a tour you have booked
Your confirmation email comes from the operator, and it carries their reservations number. They are the ones who can move a pickup point, change a date, answer a question about a dietary requirement or tell you which camp you have been placed in. Several listings ask you to confirm your pickup on WhatsApp once the booking is made, and on the Fes departures that is worth doing, because one operator uses eight different meeting places across the city.
About the desert itself
Erg Chebbi, the Merzouga Desert
Merzouga, Errachidia Province, Drâa-Tafilalet, Morocco
Hours
Open at all times. There is no gate, no entry station and no closing time — the erg is open land and access to it is not controlled or ticketed.
Admission
None. Nobody sells entry to the dunes. What you pay for is the trip, and visiting the Merzouga Desert sets out what that covers.

About this site
We compare the guided trips that reach the Merzouga Desert and set out what each one covers. We are not a tour operator and not a ticketing agent, which is set out in full on the affiliate disclosure. If you spot something on these pages that is out of date or wrong, tell us and we will check it against the source.
